Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
Custom framing since 1987, in Easthampton since 2001
What is your primary product or service?
Creative, traditional, and museum quality custom framing including an expanding selection of "green" options; art exhibits in our adjacent Elusie Fine Art Gallery
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I started my business career in my hometown of Montreux Switzerland as a certified bookbinder. In 1987 I bought my first business that offered bookbinding as well as custom framing services. That is how I discovered custom framing. I soon realized that my skills and my artistic abilities were better suited to custom framing than bookbinding and about 2 years later I decided to become a full time picture framer, and have never regretted this decision.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We have over 20 years of experience both in Europe and here in the US. Being located in the Old Town Hall in Easthampton, we are immersed in Easthampton's exciting cultural and artistic life and benefit from it through constantly renewed energy and creative challenges. One location, the best in the area, no plans to expand at this time.
